Copyediting

In today’s environment of information overload, writing must be clear and concise in order to get read. And no matter who your audience is, mistakes and inconsistencies can detract from your message and undermine your credibility. That’s why professional copyediting is such an important step in the writing process: a step that can mean the difference between “good” and truly excellent, between landing in the recycling bin and hitting the nail on the head.

Perhaps you are an author planning to submit your work to publishers, or are self-publishing and ready to go to print. Ensure that your writing is clean and free of typos and grammatical errors first. Need help fine-tuning a company profile, a business report, or advertising copy? Word·Link Editorial can help you say it clearly and professionally. Are you a publisher needing an extra hand on occasion? We can help.

Word·Link Editorial provides high quality copyediting at competitive rates. We have editors experienced in creative fiction and nonfiction in a wide range of fields, including business, medical, technical, aviation, education, and public affairs. From proofreading to substantive editing and all points in between, we’ll get your document polished, perfected, and ready for its intended audience. (Top)

Manuscript Assessment

A manuscript assessment is an unbiased examination of your book-length work from the point of view of what needs to be done to make it the very finest and most marketable it can be. The assessment is tailored to your specific requirements and concerns and will provide you with an in-depth analysis of what is working and what is not working in your manuscript. The final report is presented in an easy-to-read format, with subheadings such as structure, plot, pacing, character development, dialogue, or whatever is pertinent to your manuscript.

Both experienced and novice writers use our services and normally get an assessment done in preparation for the final rewrite of their work. Whatever your experience level is, our goal is to take your writing to the next level.

What we don’t do at Word·Link Editorial is string you along by suggesting further assessments after the initial one. In fact, we actively discourage assessing the same work more than once. We offer thorough, complete assessments the first time.

Document Critique

Need some constructive input on an article or a short story? Hammering out a newsletter? Whether you are writing for a business, an organization, or a personal project, objective written feedback can be an invaluable tool to get your writing over the hump and on its way. We will carefully evaluate your document (without doing any actual editing) and provide you with a summary of its strengths and weaknesses, as well as suggestions for how it might better hit its intended mark. You might call this a mini version of the manuscript assessment (above), designed for all types of shorter documents.(Top)
