of Ethics
Word·Link
Literary Representation, Word·Link USA Distribution, and Word·Link
Editorial are three separate entities functioning independently under
the umbrella of Word·Link Worldwide, Ltd. We believe it is important
to draw strict lines of distinction to maintain our integrity in the
publishing industry.
| • |
Submissions
to Word·Link Literary Representation are accepted by invitation
only. This is due to the large commitment of time required to give
the manuscript the consideration it deserves. Any manuscript submitted
to Word·Link Literary Representation is judged on its merits,
marketability, the high standards we expect from our clients, and
the enthusiasm an agent in the genre has to take it on. If it does
not meet these criteria, it will be rejected and the author will
receive no promotional material from Word·Link Editorial.
|
| •
|
If an author
engages the services of Word·Link Editorial for manuscript
assessment or copyediting, these manuscripts will be treated with
the utmost respect, provided the best editorial and assessment service
available, and returned when the work is done. They are not forwarded
to Word·Link Literary Representation for consideration.
|
| •
|
If an author
engages our services for consultation on contracts or self-publishing,
it should not be construed as an agreement that Word·Link
USA Distribution will carry the book in the catalogue. We only represent
a very select few books for distribution. |
These guidelines
are set up for the protection of the author to help avoid the scams
so often found in this business such as promises of representation after
costly editing work is completed. Word·Link Worldwide does not,
and will never, participate in such practices.
